Meet alicia
Hi! I’m Alicia, the calligrapher, designer, and creative heart behind Proof & Parchment.
Most days you can find me moving between client calls, sketching invitation layouts, teaching calligraphy workshops, and raising my two daughters. My work lives at the intersection of paper, storytelling, and thoughtful design.
I specialize in custom wedding stationery, envelope calligraphy, and day of event details, from the very first save the date to the seating chart your guests gather around on your wedding day. I also teach modern calligraphy classes and collaborate on freelance graphic design projects for fellow creatives and small businesses.
But what I really do is help you create a cohesive, elevated experience that feels like you.
Your wedding stationery is more than paper. It is the first impression your guests receive. It sets the tone. It builds anticipation. It becomes part of the memories you will hold onto long after the celebration is over. Whether we are designing a fully custom invitation suite or adding handwritten calligraphy to your envelopes, my goal is to make the process feel organized, thoughtful, and completely stress free for you.
When I’m not surrounded by ink and paper, I’m usually exploring life in the Pittsburgh area with my family, checking out local coffee shops, chasing my girls around a park, or diving into whatever creative hobby has caught my attention lately. Right now that looks like embroidery kits, long walks, and squeezing in yoga when I can. I’ve learned I’m happiest when I’m making something with my hands or moving my body, and luckily, my business lets me do both.
I’m so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to create something meaningful together.

I self-taught myself dip pen calligraphy and did my first full set of envelopes for my wedding in 2017. You can say I was hooked from the start!
2017

I ran my hand lettered gift shop from Europe, taught calligraphy classes, and practiced hundreds of hours of calligraphy.
2018-2020

Between the transition to motherhood and figuring out my business these years have been a whirlwind. I have slowly transitioned from my handlettering shop to full on wedding stationery. There’s been a lot of ups and downs but definitely worth it to get closer to what I want to be doing all the time.
2021-23
2017
I moved to Budapest, Hungary as a newlywed and opened my first Etsy Shop for Proof & Parchment, which officially launched my business.

2020
What a year! We moved back to Pittsburgh, bought a house, and had our first kid . . . during the pandemic. Plus I kept running my Etsy shop while also starting to plan how P&P would evolve.

NOW
And that brings us to now, where I am happily living in Pittsburgh with my family and spending my days creating wedding invitations, addressing envelopes, & more!

“It would be my pleasure and honor to get to create the first impression for your special day”
