Meet Alicia
Hi, I’m Alicia, the calligrapher, designer, and creative heart behind Proof & Parchment.
Your wedding stationery is more than paper. It is the first impression your guests receive. It sets the tone, builds anticipation, and becomes part of the memories you hold onto long after the celebration is over. That is what gets me out of bed every morning.
I started this business after hand-addressing the envelopes for my own wedding in 2017 and honestly never looked back. Since then I have helped couples across Pittsburgh and beyond create stationery that feels personal, cohesive, and completely their own, from save the dates all the way to the seating chart your guests gather around on the big day.
My days look a little different every time, but usually involve some combination of sketching, designing, assembling, and writing a lot of envelopes. Oh, and raising two little girls somewhere in between all of that.
When I am not in work mode, you can find me at F45 lifting heavy things, chasing my girls around the playground, or settled in with an embroidery kit or my iPad doing watercolor art. I am happiest when I am making something, and I feel really lucky that my job lets me do that every day.
I am so glad you are here. I would love to create something meaningful together.

I hand-addressed all the envelopes for my own wedding and honestly could not stop thinking about it afterward. I taught myself dip pen calligraphy, opened my first Etsy shop, and moved to Budapest, Hungary as a newlywed. Proof & Parchment was officially born.
2017

What a year. We moved back to Pittsburgh in the fall, bought a house, and welcomed our first daughter Maddie in October, all during a pandemic. Somehow I kept the Etsy shop going through all of it and started dreaming about where P&P could go next.
2020

Things really started clicking. Wedding stationery became the heart of everything I do, and I found my groove designing invitation suites, day-of details, and envelope calligraphy for couples across Pittsburgh and beyond. I also started teaching calligraphy through Sip & Script, which has been such a fun way to get back to sharing something I love.
2024
2018-2020
Living in Budapest was a dream. I spent those years running my hand lettering shop, teaching calligraphy classes, traveling around Europe every chance I got, and practicing calligraphy constantly. It was the best creative incubator I could have asked for.

2021-2023
These years were a beautiful, chaotic blur. I was figuring out motherhood while slowly shifting P&P from a hand lettering shop into a full wedding stationery business. It took time to find the right direction but I am so glad I kept going.

2025 – NOW
Our second daughter Isabelle arrived in January 2025 and life got wonderfully fuller. These days I am designing, assembling, addressing envelopes, and raising two little girls, and I would not change a thing.

I would love nothing more than to help you create something that feels completely and totally you.
