5 Reasons to Hire a Calligrapher
Why You Should Hire a Calligrapher
Picture this, you just got engaged and are starting to plan the wedding of your dreams… Then you start thinking about all of the decisions you have to make and people to hire to bring your vision to life. One of those hires that I believe you need on your list is a calligrapher. Maybe you’ve never even given a calligrapher a second thought and think they’re not necessary. But I’m here to tell you why you should hire a calligrapher for your wedding! If you check out the reasons below you’ll soon see why it’s important to add a calligrapher to your vendor list, trust me.
Reason #1: Hire a calligrapher to create your wedding’s first impression to your guests
I might sound like a broken record when it comes to this but it really is true. Having your wedding envelopes done with pen and ink by a calligrapher will make an amazing first impression to your guests. There’s nothing like receiving a wedding invitation in the mail and seeing the hand done calligraphy in person. It stands out over every other piece of mail and is a work of art. This shows your guests the thought you have put into every detail of your wedding from the beginning. I know not every guest will keep the envelopes but I definitely do and just knowing a few guests will keep it makes it worth it!
Reason #2: A calligrapher can do more than just address your wedding invitations
Wedding envelopes addressed in calligraphy are seriously the best as I just went on about in reason 1. But did you know that calligraphers can do way more than just addressing envelopes? In fact I have a whole article on planning all of the wedding stationery options you have. Here’s just a few to think about: save the dates, invitations, menus, signs, programs, table numbers, and so on. Just check out this post if you need even more ideas of what a calligrapher can create for your wedding.
Reason #3: A calligrapher can take away some of your stress
There’s no need for you to worry about dealing with printers, understanding cmyk or pantone codes, and so much more when you are working with a calligrapher. All you really have to worry about is telling the calligrapher your wedding vibe, colors you like, and of course sharing your Pinterest board. Then you leave it to the calligrapher to bring it all to life. The best part is hiring the calligrapher to do the printing that way they can work with printers of high quality and pick the perfect paper for all of your stationery needs! There’s plenty to stress about in wedding planning but checking on what size bleed your invitation files need to be is not something you need on your plate.
Reason #4: A calligrapher can brand your wedding
Have you been to many weddings where you can just tell there’s a specific theme? Most likely that’s because every detail is cohesively created and a calligrapher probably had some part in that. When a calligrapher designs your invitations, addresses your envelopes, creates signs, lays out the seating chart and more it all comes together beautifully. Your wedding is basically a “brand” created by your calligrapher and the rest of your vendors. And who wouldn’t want a memorable wedding?!
Reason #5: You can use a calligrapher’s services for wedding showers, bachelorette parties, and the rehearsal dinner
Besides being able to hire a calligrapher for all designs relating to your wedding you can also use their services for other parts of your wedding. Using a calligrapher for other events in relation to your wedding is a fun way to get even more creative. These events do not have to match the wedding brand exactly but can still relate to your overall vision.
